It’s Been A Long Time Coming…

It’s been a long time coming. We’ve wanted a place where everyone could share their successes in helping adults graduate from college. That place is the Adult College Completion Network. Why?

Lumina Foundation has been studying degree attainment statistics for years. We kept coming back to one statistic—the 37 million adults between 25 – 64 who attended college but never earned any degree. This is the group Lumina has decided to focus major attention on—we think that providing a second chance for these adults to return to college to finish degrees could be a big boost to the nation’s goal to dramatically increase college degree attainment and advance the nation’s workforce productivity.

Many steps followed Lumina’s commitment to advancing adult degree attainment; e.g., discussing best approaches with stakeholders in the field, making preliminary grants to pilot-test ideas, and developing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to support a larger group of efforts.
